PM Modi Holds 9th Roundtable with Global Energy Leaders at India Energy Week 2026
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 9th Prime Minister’s Roundtable Meeting with top executives of leading global energy companies on the sidelines of India Energy Week (IEW) 2026. The high-level interaction focused on strengthening global partnerships and highlighting India’s vast investment opportunities in the energy sector.
The roundtable witnessed participation from CEOs of 27 major global and Indian energy companies, including TotalEnergies, BP, Vitol, Vedanta, ReNew Power, and Trafigura. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri was also present during the discussions.
Massive Investment Opportunities in India’s Energy Sector
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India’s energy sector offers unprecedented investment potential. He highlighted opportunities across key segments, including:

Around $100 billion in oil and gas exploration and production

Nearly $87 billion in refining and petrochemicals

Approximately $72 billion in the natural gas sector
The Prime Minister underlined that India is pursuing a long-term vision to ensure energy security while balancing economic growth and sustainability.
India’s Growing Role in the Global Energy Landscape
PM Modi stated that India is rapidly moving towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy. He noted that India will play a decisive role in balancing global energy demand and supply in the coming years.
Amid global uncertainties, the Prime Minister presented India as a stable, reliable, and trusted partner for international investors. He shared that India currently imports energy from over 40 countries, sources LNG from 18 different suppliers, and exports petroleum products to more than 150 countries worldwide.
Global CEOs Express Confidence in India
The participating global energy leaders expressed strong confidence in India’s economic policies, reform-driven growth, and long-term market potential. Several CEOs conveyed their intent to further expand investments and deepen business operations in India, citing policy stability and growing energy demand.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of innovation and international collaboration. He reaffirmed that India is fully prepared to work with global partners across the entire energy value chain and remains committed to building a resilient and sustainable energy future.
