Computer Baba Performs Panch Agni Tapasya at Magh Mela, Appeals to Declare Cow as ‘Rashtra Mata’
Prayagraj witnessed a powerful display of faith and spiritual discipline during the Magh Mela, where renowned saint Computer Baba performed the highly demanding Panch Agni Tapasya at the Sangam. This rare form of penance is considered one of the most rigorous spiritual practices in the Vaishnav tradition, involving meditation while surrounded by fire on all sides.
Special Ritual on Basant Panchami
Computer Baba undertook the Panch Agni Tapasya on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, dedicating the ritual to the honour of the Shankaracharyas and the preservation of Sanatan traditions. A large number of devotees gathered at the Sangam to witness the penance, which symbolised devotion, endurance and spiritual commitment.
Announcement of a Grand Saints’ Conference
During the event, Computer Baba announced that a major saints’ conference will be held in Delhi on March 10 and 11. The conference is expected to be attended by the four Shankaracharyas, Akhada heads, Mahamandaleshwars, Mahants and prominent saints from across the country. The gathering will focus on issues related to Sanatan Dharma and national culture.
Demand to Declare Cow as ‘Rashtra Mata’
One of the key objectives of the proposed conference is to demand that the cow be granted the status of ‘Rashtra Mata’ (Mother of the Nation). The saints will also call for a complete ban on cow slaughter. Computer Baba stated that the cow is not merely an animal but a fundamental symbol of Indian culture, tradition and prosperity.
Call for Unity Among Saints
Computer Baba emphasised that the conference will not be limited to discussions alone. He said that decisive resolutions will be taken on matters related to religion, faith and national interest, and the united voice of the saint community will be presented before society and the government.
Large Turnout at Magh Mela
The Magh Mela saw a massive turnout of devotees at the Sangam, especially on the Basant Panchami bathing day. Lakhs of pilgrims took a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. Authorities made extensive arrangements to ensure security, crowd management and smooth conduct of the religious events.
