Apple and Google Team Up to Make Siri Smarter with Gemini AI
Apple has entered into a long-term partnership with Google to bring Google’s advanced Gemini artificial intelligence into its voice assistant, Siri, and future AI features on iPhones.
Apple selected Gemini after testing several AI models and finding it to be one of the most capable platforms for building next-generation AI services. This move is expected to significantly improve Siri’s performance, making it more intelligent, responsive, and helpful for users.
Under this collaboration, Google’s AI technology will support Apple’s own foundation models. This will allow Siri to better understand user requests, provide more accurate responses, and offer deeper integration across apps and services.
Apple has also emphasized that user privacy will remain a top priority. Most AI processing will happen directly on Apple devices or through Apple’s private cloud system, ensuring that personal data is not shared or exposed.
The upgraded version of Siri powered by Gemini AI is expected to be introduced with a future iOS update in 2026. This update will bring more natural conversations, better contextual understanding, and smarter assistance across the iPhone ecosystem.
This partnership marks a major step for Apple as it strengthens its AI capabilities by combining its own technology with Google’s advanced AI expertise.
