South Indian film superstar Thalapathy Vijay is once again in the headlines, this time for his personal life. His wife, Sangeeta Sornalingam, has filed for divorce in Chengalpattu Family Court after nearly 27 years of marriage. The move has sparked widespread discussion among fans and media alike.

Sangeeta’s petition contains serious allegations. She claims that Vijay allegedly had an extramarital relationship with an actress. When she discovered this in April 2021, Vijay reportedly assured her that the relationship would end, but it allegedly continued. This, according to Sangeeta, caused her prolonged mental distress and emotional suffering.

The petition also states that Vijay’s behavior changed whenever she questioned him, and she faced multiple restrictions. Based on mental cruelty and emotional abuse, she has requested a divorce under the Special Marriage Act, 1954.
