Telangana ACB Seizes Assets Worth Rs 10 Crore From Suspended Additional Collector
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana has carried out a major crackdown against a suspended Additional Collector in a disproportionate assets case. The action was taken against R. Ramadevi Venkat Reddy, who was earlier arrested on bribery charges.
What Is the Case About?
According to officials, Venkat Reddy was caught red-handed in December 2025 while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000. At the time, he was also serving as In-Charge Joint Secretary in the Telangana Education Department. Following his arrest, the government suspended him from service.
As the investigation progressed, the ACB found evidence suggesting that the officer had accumulated assets far beyond his known sources of income.
What Was Seized During the Raids?
The ACB conducted searches at multiple locations, including Hyderabad, Nalgonda, and Miryalaguda. During these raids, officials seized assets worth approximately Rs 10 crore, which included:
-
Gold jewellery weighing around 2 kilograms
-
Cash amounting to nearly Rs 30 lakh
-
Additional cash of about Rs 42 lakh found in bank lockers
-
Several residential houses and villas
-
Around 10 plots located in different areas
Officials believe that these properties were acquired through illegal means and do not match the officer’s declared income.
Ongoing Investigation
The Anti-Corruption Bureau stated that the investigation is still underway. Documents related to properties, bank accounts, and financial transactions are being thoroughly examined. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
Authorities have described this operation as a strong warning against corruption within the administrative system and reaffirmed their commitment to taking strict action against officials involved in corrupt practices.
