Uttar Pradesh Weather Update: Dense Fog and Rain Alert on January 16

Uttar Pradesh Weather Update

Cold weather conditions continue to intensify across Uttar Pradesh. On January 16, dense fog was recorded in several districts, significantly affecting daily life. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for dense fog and possible rainfall in many parts of the state, urging people to remain cautious.

Dense Fog and Cold Conditions Across the State

Early morning hours witnessed dense to very dense fog in multiple regions of Uttar Pradesh, leading to reduced visibility on roads. Due to poor visibility, vehicular movement slowed down, especially on highways and rural routes, causing inconvenience to commuters.

Cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Mathura, Bareilly and nearby districts experienced a sharp drop in minimum temperatures. In many areas, temperatures ranged between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius, intensifying cold conditions and discomfort for residents.

IMD Alert Issued for Several Districts

The India Meteorological Department has issued yellow and orange alerts for dense fog in multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh. According to IMD, visibility may remain extremely low during early morning and late-night hours, increasing the risk of travel disruptions.

Rail and road transport services may also be affected due to foggy conditions. Passengers have been advised to check travel updates before starting their journey.

Rainfall Possibility and Weather Forecast

As per the latest forecast, light to moderate rainfall is likely in some parts of Uttar Pradesh over the coming days. The change in weather is attributed to the active western disturbance affecting northern India.

While rainfall may cause slight fluctuations in temperature, no major relief from cold conditions is expected. Increased moisture in the air may further intensify fog during night and early morning hours.

Advisory for the General Public

The weather department has advised residents to take necessary precautions:

Avoid unnecessary travel during early morning and late-night hours.
Drive at reduced speed and use fog lights where required.
Ensure children, elderly people and those with health issues remain adequately protected from cold.
Stay updated with weather advisories and plan daily activities accordingly.

Weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh on January 16 remain challenging due to dense fog, cold temperatures and the possibility of rainfall. In such circumstances, following official advisories and maintaining caution is essential to ensure safety and minimize inconvenience.
